We are down to only 3 puppies from Vernie’s litter so we combined them with the remaining 4 from Stella’s litter and they are having a ball🐾. We enjoyed meeting more families for pick up this Friday and seeing how loved each one already is. Puppies are loving the snow we are getting, but we are not as excited after the warm weather we had. We continue to have puppies in their own crate daily and they are doing so well. They seem to prefer not having a Buddy with them now. We will continue to bring them on car rides this week, practice stairs and work on sitting when they greet us. So excited to meet more families soon!

Happy Easter!
What a bittersweet week it has been! Saying goodbye to 4 siblings this past Friday is always sad but also so wonderful to see how loved they are! We have more take homes this week and with each one the puppy room gets a little bit quieter. This week we will continue to have puppies spend time in crates, work on sitting when they greet us, continue working on resource guarding, baths, nails trimmed, and lots of time with our big girls to play. We have enjoyed this bunch of puppies so very much and have enjoyed hearing how their siblings have done in their new homes. Looking forward to meeting you all very soon!

Puppies are 7 weeks old today and getting ready to meet their families at the end of this week! They are doing so well in their crates and choosing to do most all potties outside. They are starting to respond to the command to sit when we greet them. We do a training session before each meal (as they are more food motivated at that time) having them sit. We also have them sit before we pet them to reinforce as this is so important with how fast they will grow. Puppies have all transitioned to hard food and are no longer nursing from Vernie. They have very sharp teeth so she is pretty happy about this new arrangement. They are so very playful and love their one on one time especially if it includes a belly rub. Puppies will all get their nails clipped this week and those going home will get their first bath. We will have extra friends over to visit with the puppies to continue to socialize them to more than just our family. Sadly, Lime green Gracie's family had to pass on her as they had a loss in their family. We are so sorry for all they are going through!
She was available for a short time but we are happy to say she is reserved again and her name is TBD.

Puppies are 6 weeks old today and doing so very well! We are so happy with how well they are doing with crate time 1-2 times daily for about 1 1/2 each time with no potties in the crates. They are also choosing to use the doggie door for most potties which is always my most celebrated success. They love playing in the snow and are also enjoying each visit we get from friends and family. We continue to work on their startle response with lots of reassurance. Puppies are eating 3 meals of soft food and are still nursing from Vernie twice daily. We will gradually wean them fully this week and add hard food as tolerated. We are loving each one so very much and hope you enjoy some of what they have been up to below!

Puppies are 5 weeks old and so interactive!! They are loving eating 3 meals a day and nursing several times from Vernie. We will lengthen times between feedings this week to continue the weaning process. Crate was started this weekend and puppies have done well so far with short periods of time in them with a sibling. We will lengthen that time and spread them out to just be with 1 sibling over this week. Puppies are loving the great outdoors and going potty outside 5 times daily. This week looks warmer so we will lengthen each time outside this week also which the puppies will absolutely love. We will continue to work on sound therapy and have some intentional visits from others to help socialize the puppies to more people than just our family. We will continue to give puppies new toys and things to explore as well as continue work on startle response. So many fun things going on!

This week puppies will continue eating soft puppy food while still nursing from Vernie. By the end of the week they will be eating 3 times daily and Vernie will start to be separated from puppies for a few hours at a time to continue the weaning process. Puppies are becoming so interactive and very playful. It is such a fun stage! We continue to doe sound therapy to get them used to loud noises and lots of sounds they may encounter in their lifetime to help them to become very used to these sounds. Puppies are enjoying having new toys interchanged daily as well as having time in the bigger play area daily. They are using the potty area well and we look forward to having them go outside in a week to start the transition to going potty outside.
So many fun things happening!

Puppies are becoming so much fun and responsive to each other and us even wagging their tales! Pictures get more difficult as they are so curious and look away as we try to get a picture, but we do our best to capture as much as possible. This week puppies will start to eat softened puppy food as we will be going the very slow weaning process. We will continue to work on startle response daily and play their sounds CD. New toys will be introduced daily to give puppies new things to play with. We will continue to do ENS time which is always our favorite snuggle time with each puppy. Hope you enjoy seeing a glimpse into the puppies lives with us.

Puppies have opened their eyes so their world is going to become much more exciting! Eyes can look very strange at this point as they are a grayish blue color and they do not focus well yet. They Will continue to open wider and turn a nice dark brown color, it is just all a part of the developmental process. They are growing so fast, as you will see below, and have starting to move around more. Toward the end of this week they will make their transition out of the pool and into a bigger area that will become larger as they grow. It will have an area to go potty as well as crates set up that we will integrate in the next few weeks gradually. Puppies were dewormed for the first time and will every 2 weeks until they go home and then can be started on a monthly preventative. We continue to perform ENS daily with each puppy which we absolutely love as well as give lots of snuggles. We love movie night with puppies and our boys enjoy studying while snuggling puppies. Puppies will begin here in the next few days which clues us into an important part of their development. Once we notice they can hear us we will intentionally practice startle response in a friendly way to get them used to many different noises. We are having so much fun with this bunch of puppies and enjoying getting to see their little personalities and coats develop.

Puppies are a week old and I am so excited to post their first photos and current weights. We continue to do daily ENS time with each one and have introduced them for the first time to our retired mama, Ruby! She loves to see puppies and is a great, gentle introduction to large dogs other than mama Vernie. We have adjusted each color to accommodate their rapid growth and clipped nails again to keep Vernie comfortable. Puppies still are unable to see or hear, but we stimulate their senses of smell with different scents daily as well as touch by introducing them to new surfaces. Eyes will be opening at the end of this week and ears will open around 3 weeks of age. We are enjoying each one so very much and Vernie is such a dedicated, patient mama who is soaking up all the extra attention puppies bring her. Hope you enjoy the puppies below!

Vernie and all her puppies are doing so well! They are growing right before our eyes. We weigh them daily to make sure everyone is growing as they should and so far everyone is on track. We are loving our Early Neurologic Stimulation "ENS" time that we do daily with our puppies. This is the process we do to introduce mild stresses to each puppy in a controlled way that stimulates the neurological system. This helps improve the growth and development of the puppies immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance. Puppies have all had their nails trimmed and we continue to do this every few days to make sure Vernie is comfortable while also helping the puppies to become accustomed to more handling. Our boys play a big role in getting our puppies used to gentle hands.
We are so excited to see how these sweet puppies develop!

Vernie and her 11 puppies are all doing so well! We weighed everyone and gave them each a collar to help us know who is who. There will be lots of weights taken in the early days to make sure they are all gaining weight as they should. We are so excited to start this adventure with this bunch of puppies!

Just wanted to post a quick update on Vernie. She is doing very well and is showing early signs of labor but no puppies yet. I will update once puppies arrive! Excited for the fun ahead!
Vernie had her ultrasound today and is doing very well! They counted 10 possibly 11 so we are so excited to welcome them in the next week. We have the puppy suite all set and ready for Vernie. We will update the blog when puppies arrive.
Vernie's belly is growing very quickly so we are so excited to see how many she is carrying at her X-ray next Monday. Feeling the puppies move in her belly is such a fun part of the process. She is sleeping more but is still up for a hike or walk even with the extreme cold we have been having. She is doing so well and getting so close to here puppies arriving. We will update the blog early next week with her X-ray results and the following post will be to introduce her puppies. So very exciting!
Vernie is doing very well and is growing by the day!
She rests a lot more and enjoys lots of belly rubs. She also loves to play with Mr. Red (puppy in the pictures) and loves any car ride she gets to come along for…kiddo pick up is her favorite. We are getting so excited to meet her puppies and love seeing her grow. Puppy movement will be felt soon and that is truly the best.

We are so excited to announce that Vernie was confirmed to be pregnant this week with our Vet. Vernie is doing very well and is very snuggly! She loves being around the puppies we have and very gentle to all of them. She loved getting to come up the North Shore this fall for a camping trip. She loves the extra attention pregnancy brings and we are so excited to welcome her first litter.
