It is always hard to say good bye but such a gift to see how loved these puppies are by their new families. 5 puppies have been welcomed into their new home. Such a fun day🐾

So hard to believe we are in the final week with these sweet puppies!  They are all doing so well and we can't wait for them to be welcomed into their forever homes to enrich the lives of their families.  They have continued to do very well in their crates this week, choosing to do all potties outside, sit to greet us, and have enjoyed lots of visits this week.  We also introduced them to being on a leash, have had them for a car ride, and introduced them to new environments.  They are all sleeping in their own crate and doing very well in them.  We couldn't be more proud of how well they are all doing and can't wait for them to meet their forever families this week.  Fuschia (Quinn) went home and had great report from her family.  She slept all night and was adjusting very well which we were so excited to hear.  This week each puppy will get a bath & nails trimmed in preparation for take home.

We are on our final weeks with this bunch of puppies and we couldn't be more happy with each of their temperaments, desire to please, trainability, and loving natures.  They are doing so well with crate time and have worked up to 2 naps for about 1 1/2 each time daily in them.  Most potties are done outside now which is such a great transition.  They are sitting to greet us and learning to come when called.  Puppies are getting very ready to have a family all to themselves to get 1:1 attention.  They absolutely love time with us and all the friends and family that visit them weekly so in the next 1-2 weeks getting to be welcomed into their new family to have that focused attention is such an exciting time for our family.  We will continue to work on all the the things we have started and also introduce them to being on a leash.

I can hardly believe puppies turned 6 weeks old today.  This week we will continue to have lots of friendly visitors to play and interact with the puppies. We are working on the marker word "yes" to reinforce behavior we are wanting to encourage such as going potty outside, sitting to greet us, coming when called etc.  We will continue to work on time in crates with the doors shut.  Puppies have been doing very well with this so far.  We have been introducing them to new environments and areas to acclimate them to new spaces as well as continue to let them have time with our other big girls to interact with friendly dogs. We continue to work on sounds with them and resource guarding by having our hands in their food while they eat.

I can hardly believe puppies turned 5 weeks old yesterday!  They are each developing the finest personalities and our boys have said many times this is their favorite litter….they have said that before but can't believe how fun yet mellow this bunch is.  This week we will continue to introduce new toys daily and allow them to have lots of outside time to continue to learn to choose to potty outside which they are doing very well with. They also are picking to sleep in crates on their own and we will begin to latch the door this week and build up the amount of time they are in them each day.  Puppies will have their full vet exam, vaccines, and microchip placement this Wednesday.  They will be pretty tiered that day so we will keep it a very quiet day.  We will also bring puppies in new areas separate from their siblings to get them used to different surfaces, carpet, stairs etc.  We will also work on resource guarding by putting our hands in their food and petting them while they eat to become very comfortable with others around their food.  

Puppy picking has started and Mr. Blue is the first to be chosen and his name is TBD.

How exciting that puppies are 4 weeks old yesterday and half way through the process!  Puppies are eating 3 small soft meals daily now and Kapri is starting to spend longer breaks away from them.  By the end of this week she will not be sleeping with them anymore and her final week of weaning will begin at week 5-6.  We continue to perform ENS time daily with each puppy and have extra helpers to help in this process and help to socialize the puppies.  Lots of toys are introduced daily and they will beginning having outside time this week as weather allows.  They have fresh water available now that food has been started.  We continue to work on startle response and play a sounds CD several times each day to help them become very accustomed to hearing sirens, door bells, fireworks, babies crying, car noise, and many other sounds they will encounter in their lives.  We will continue to bring them out for time away from their siblings as well as start to let them explore crates and be in them for a few minutes at a time this week.

What a fun week this will be! Because puppies can see and hear now, their world is getting far more interesting for them. Now we begin to introduce them to new sounds, smells, sights, things, and new people. We have introduced potty areas which puppies are doing well to move away from their bedding to use to go potty. Nails continue to be inspected and clipped as they grow so fast to keep Kapri comfortable. We have started to add new toys and objects each day for puppies to explore and learn from. We will practice startle response in a friendly way to watch their response (ex keys, vacuum, plastic tarp, dropping items etc). Puppies will initially startle but will subsequently investigate the object and learn to have a good tolerance for new things. Teeth are popping in so soft food will be started at the end of this week and the weaning process will begin. Gentle visitors will be welcomed to help the puppies become used to more humans than just our family as well as a visit or 2 from one of our other mamas. We will also separate puppies from their litter mates for short periods of time to build confidence on their own.
So many fun things to work on with these little ones, it will be a busy week ahead!

Puppies are growing at a rapid rate as Kapri is doing such a wonderful job caring and feeding them all. We have trimmed nails again to make sure to keep Kapri safe and comfortable. Collars have been replaced to accommodate their change in size. Eyes have opened and it has been so fun to get to know them better now that they can see us and respond a bit more. Ears will open this week and puppies will start to startle in response to the works around them. We dewormed puppies and will continue to do this every 2 weeks until they go home. At that point they will be old enough for monthly preventative. We continue to perform “ENS” time twice daily with lots of other interactions from gentle hands to give them new positive experiences.

Eyes are beginning to open. It is a very slow process but it has begun.

What a fun week it has been!  Kapri couldn't be a better mother and each puppy is growing and developing just as they should.  Collars have been loosened twice now to accommodate their growth.  Nails were trimmed to help keep Kapri comfortable as they nurse.  We continue to do ENS time with each puppy daily and they are all doing very well with that.  As a reminder, this helps each puppy develop good stress tolerance while improving their immune and cardiovascular systems.  We will begin doing this intentional time twice daily this week.  Eyes will begin opening this week.  It is a slow process but so fun to start to see them connect a bit more with the outside world.  Puppies are not able to hear yet and ears will open around week 3.

We are so excited to start the fun of ENS time which is Early Neurologic Stimulation which is a process we that introduces mild stresses in a controlled way. These stresses help stimulate the Neurologic system which improves the growth and development of the puppies immune & cardiovascular systems as well as helping them learn stress tolerance. We love this time because we get to snuggle and live in each one intentionally each day. Hope you enjoy meeting the puppies.

Kapri enjoyed a walk in the sunshine today! She is such a devoted mama she needs to be encouraged to take time away from her puppies. It is so fun to see how each puppies color is similar but very unique from the next one. For now all they do is eat, sleep, and poop and repeat. They are all growing well and we are loving the process so far.

The boys: Red, Blue, Green, Black & Grey. The girls: Fuschia, pink, yellow, & Purple. Kapri is doing a great job feeding everyone and very gentle with each one. They really are an incredible bunch and we look forward to watching them grow.

Kapri puppies are so beautiful (5 boys & 4girls). All are nursing well, moving to mama on their own, and already starting to gain weight. Kapri is doing so well and such a devoted mama! All puppies are apricot with white markings. We are so very excited for all the fun to come.

Kapri’s first puppy was born at 6:00 am this morning. She has had 9 so far (4 female and 5 males). They are absolutely precious and everyone including mama are doing very well. Kapri is a very gentle and attentive as we knew she would be. They are absolute perfection and have an apricot color with white markings on most of them. So far we have one Parti that has 1/2 white and 1/2 apricot coloring. We are so excited to start this adventure with this litter and their future families.

We are getting close! Kapri is all settled in and will deliver in the next few days. She has such a full belly, but no active signs of labor have started yet. We are so excited for puppies and will post as soon as they have arrived. 🐾

We are so very excited for the week ahead! Kapri is doing very well and is due in less than 1 week. She has been putting herself to bed and growing by the day. We went from spring back to winter in our dog area and had hoped for more to melt before puppies but it seems like the snow just wants to continue. Looking forward to the journey ahead!

Kapri had her ultrasound on March 6th and the vet counted at least 11 so we are all geared up for a big litter. She is doing very well and is taking more naps which is to be expected. Our puppy area is all ready for puppies and we can’t wait for the fun ahead!
