Aggies F1 Standard Bernedoodle Blog November 8th Aggie had 11 beautiful Tri colored puppies. Take home will be January 3-5 🎉. All puppies from this litter have been reserved.
More progress happening here as you can see Aggie has made the transition to standing while they eat 🤣. Very normal at this age it allows for her to make a fast break if they are too rough now with teeth. Fuschia has been chosen and is now Macy Belle 🎉.
Puppies got de wormed today and nails trimmed. Lots of hands on from visitors. They even got a visit tonight from big sister Penny. I have never seen so many tails wagging.
Another big morning so far! Puppies just had breakfast and will be having 2 meals today as their bellies did so well on their first meal yesterday. They still received fresh ground venison and goats milk which take a good amount of time to prepare but so worth it. We will start to mix this with soft Abundants Life dog food in the next days. The puppies space is growing and wood chips are added to encourage them to go potty in that space. Aggie enjoyed a morning of snowshoeing with me to reopen their trails. Our boys love before school, after school and before bed snuggles. Today we have a family with much littler kiddos then ours coming to give the puppies more exposure. Loud/startling noises are continued to be introduced to help puppies learn to ignore them and recover after it. They have raised beds in their area now that they all enjoy learning how to climb on and under. The kennel is now open for them to get used to being in that space as well.
Such a big day for the puppies!!! They started their first bites of food. We soften it with goat milk and purée venison and they absolutely LOVED it. They ate every single morsel. They also played in the larger area and were able to explore more toys and under tight spaces. The all made their first steps on the snow as the sun was shining and warmed up their outside play area very nice. Stella even introduced herself and I think they all assumed she was mom😆. She is a gentle, kind girl who does well in making them trust other large dogs. They also came inside for their first bites of food and spent 4 hours with me making our normal house noises (vacuuming, laundry, the occasional dropped item etc.). Everyone is doing very well and all have full belly’s so all they want to do is sleep. Many positive things are going on in their world to help continue their journey to becoming the best dog long term. ❤️
More fun with our toys from today . The life of a puppy 😆
Good morning! Puppies are loving their toys and are becoming so interactive and fun!! They are doing very well with poop on their potty area. Can you spot your puppy if you have picked?
Everyone is growing very well by their weights and activity levels! We had extra kiddos here for snuggles as school was canceled but sadly I got caught up in the fun and didn’t get pictures. Puppies are all recognizing us and loving to spend more time with us. New toys are very welcomed and studied when introduced. Excited to report that more of them are getting off their sleeping area to the potty spot 🎉
Good morning!! We have yet another puppy to be chosen. Green boy is now “Kelvin”🎉. We have friends coming over today for more time handling puppies. I also hope to do weights again to give your their growth. Stella, Penny, and Ruby get to make their introductions next week. And puppies will start on soft food in the next few days now that their teeth have started to pop through. So much going on!😉
Lime boy is now “Legend”. Such a great name!
Lots of snuggles on this snowy day! Toys are being introduced and we loud nooses are being made intentionally and some unintentionally to help puppies learn to rebound well from new things. Exciting news that pink collar girl has found her forever home and is now “Betty”.
Puppies all are enjoying their new space as is Aggie. They have started using their potty area and are taking their first licks of water in their bowl🎉. We got tons of snow and our kiddos and big girls are all living it.
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family as we did! Our puppies had a big day today, they transitioned to our bigger outdoor space. This gives them more room to move and explore. They now have a potty area thus have already started to use as they try very hard to move far from where they sleep to go potty. Aggie loves having extra room and is able to go in and out more often to get exercise and relief from the constant demand of her puppies. Puppies have now started to show more recognition of all of us and are wagging tails more frequently. They are more desiring of attention from us and we will begin in the next days to introduce toys, water and their first bites of food. We are also very excited to introduce red color is now “River” 🎉.
Happy Thanksgiving!! We are so thankful for so many things, but want to let you know how thankful we are to be a part of this journey with your future puppy. We have family visiting from Colorado and we feel so very blessed to have such a trustworthy dog sitter to help out so we can have special time with them. Hope you have a blessed day with your families!
We hope all our families have a wonderful Thanksgiving! We will have a quieter next few days with family in town so I’m sorry if the posts are less over the next few days.
So thankful for puppies to snuggle!
Today has been so fun to notice the change of puppies starting to desire to come to us and play with each other. The changes seem to happen before our eyes. Lawson noticed everyone he goes in with them that they have just started to walk to him, amazing! We have also been vacuuming near them to get them more used to different noises.
Puppies are enjoying extra snuggles this week as our kids are off all week for Thanksgiving.
Good morning! Hope you have a great Sunday.
Such a great experience today being snuggled by our friends. Learning to feel comfortable with little one is so very important. Everyone did very well!
Happy Saturday! We are excited to have more friends with younger kiddos coming today to give the puppies more hands on exposure to kids smaller then ours.
Puppies were all de wormed today and will be every 2 weeks until they go home. Hard to believe they are 2 weeks old now!! So much change in such a short amount of time. It is so neat to see just this morning their new response to noise and light. Typically when I get up they all stay sleeping but this morning when they heard me and the light was turned on they all woke up and started sitting up and looking around. If your following it along with Puppy Culture we are close to the end of their first stage of development and this week will move into the next. Only 6 more weeks until they are welcomed into your homes.
Everyone is doing very well! Puppies had a big day today taking more steps, having more time outside their normal space, more eyes opening, nails care, along with their normal handling and stimulation. Aggie is loving the snow and cool temps. We are enjoying every snuggle we get!
Each day still brings the 5 neurologic stimulations with each puppy in addition to all the hands on that goes into changing their bedding 5-8 times daily. We take them out individually to sit and snuggle while we watch tv or play games. They are all doing very well with this! They have started sitting for very short amounts of time and eyes are opening up a bit more each day in between lots of naps.
Before school snuggle time! All the puppies eyes have now opened for the first times now it is just very hard to capture with their dark coats. They are starting to sit up and take more normal steps.
More snuggles before bed
The girls all helped with some decorating projects today. They just love when I spend my days outside with them especially in the woods.
They have graduated from needing the noodle, and I heard the first little bark! They are starting to change so fast it almost seems you can sit and watch the change happening.
Eyes have started to open!! It is a slow process so little squints for now are totally normal. Puppies are growing so very fast as you can see from the weights taken today. Noses are starting to turn black as all will eventually do. We have better pictures of all puppies below finally 🎉....so sorry for the mistake with the green puppy he is a boy. As puppies are chosen the name will appear as well or say chosen if no name has been given yet to help keep everyone updated on who is available. Still just have Greta and Gunnar chosen this far.
Orange Girl ”Greta”
Blue Boy ”Gunnar”
Puppies are enjoying more time away from their siblings and for extra snuggles. Some are so very close to opening their eyes we can hardly wait. Today all collars will be replaced as they have been growing so much and are getting snug.
Happy Sunday to all our forever families!
Some of our family visited today and helped with neurologic stimulation as well as just puppy snuggles. Puppies are 9 days old and typically at day 11-14 the eye opening process begins and is so fun to see them get their first blurry glimpses of their big world.
Good morning!! We all have made it over the very important 1 week mark and are thriving. Aggie is able to spend longer periods of time away from her puppies to get some needed time outside to stretch her legs. I have included pictures of examples of brindle Bernedoodles (not of our puppies) to help give you an idea of the look down the road as we do not have past puppies with this color. We think they are so exceptional!
Miss Orange found her forever home and her family name her Greta! The next pick will be waiting until week 3 to see eyes open. Today each puppy has started to get more comfortable with the neurologic stimulation. It is so neat to feel them melt into a position and feel comfort in our hands. All collars have needed to be adjusted as they have grown so much. Our biggest puppy dark blue is over 2 lbs now. Hard to believe they have mostly all doubled in weight in 1 weeks time. If you don’t know each puppy is born unable to hear or see. In the next week eyes will open typically stating around day 11. The growth and development in one week is such a miracle and so fun to be a part of.
Started nail care today. This helps to keep Aggie safe from sharp nails that can scratch her while they are eating and lead to infections. It is also a great way to start getting each puppy accustomed to this as it will be something they need for the rest of their lives.
If you desire to learn more about early puppy development (0-12 weeks) I highly recommend purchasing the Puppy Culture series. We follow it while puppies are in our home and encourage our families to continue when they come home to help in producing the best dog long term. We have already started this process and will refer to it as the puppies grow and we start new areas worked on. We do not start the clicker process but families that have followed this have had wonderful success. We also highly recommend the highest nutrition. We believe very strongly that keeping each puppy at an ideal weight and continuing to feed Life’s Abundance food will bring great health benefits long term to your puppy. Our health guarantee is extended to 2 years if you choose to order Life’s Abundance through our link provided on our take home page. We will send out information for ordering as take home gets closer so you are all set to welcome your puppy home.
Quick explanation of why we use a pool and swimming noodles for the whelping area. Other whelping boxes are typically a wood base making them impossible to keep disinfected. They often have seams where liquids can get trapped and build up unable to be cleaned. They are also usually square. The pool while it may look like the lesser option is very easy to keep clean and is the perfect shape for mama to lay more naturally. The noodles provide cushion for mama and safety for each puppy so they don’t get trapped against a hard surface and suffocate. Noodles can easily be changed when needed. We use absorbent round pad on the bottom to wick away any moisture as well as blankets on top that are changed every few hours to keep their area clean.
What a way to wake up! Weston loves the early morning snuggles while Aggie gets a break.
Picking has started. Blue boy is “Gunnar”and is the first to be picked. I will keep you updated on the blog as puppies are chosen. I will contact you individually when it is your turn or very close to your turn in some cases. When we are closer to your pick I can send you more specific footage of the ones you may have your eye on.
Blue boy “Gunnar”
Lots of hands on touch, time on their backs, touching their feet & ears, loads of kisses make for the best puppies. Check out the growth of each puppy from our daily weights. We enjoy every minute of being a part of this journey with each of you and your future puppies!
More snuggle time...
It is amazing to see the round belly’s already developing. They are starting to fill the tub and we are only 5 days old. Everyone did well through the night following their rear dew claws being removed which is so very important. Everyone is continuing to gain weight as expected.
Puppies are 4 days old now and all are growing and doing very well! Mama Aggie has been out for a few hikes and is also doing a great job as a Mama. Today was a very big day for everyone as the puppies had their first vet check and rear dew claws removed. We believe very strongly in retaining the front ones and only remove the rear ones to protect them long term as they are most at risk of being snagged and causing issues down the road. Everyone did very well and Mama Aggie tolerated the separation from them very well. She was very eager to get each one back for much needed snuggles. We are so very blessed to have such a great vet who makes house call so we don’t have to expose our puppies to unnecessary germs and stress. All are healthy and doing well after their check today. We are also excited to introduce all the puppies.
Meet the brindle tri color female. Purple, gray, pink, & light blue.
Meet the traditional tri color girls. Orange, fuchsia, yellow, & red.
Meet the boys! Blue is taken and named “Gunnar”. Green traditional tri and lime is brindle tri.
Happy Sunday! Everyone is thriving and we are loving getting to snuggle each and everyone of them.
Today starts our very intentional early neurological stimulation with each puppy daily. We follow the “Puppy Culture Method” Starting at day 3-16. It has been proven to help build stronger immune systems, adrenal systems, & stronger hearts. Everyone is growing very well and Mama Aggie is doing her job amazingly!
All puppies have their official collars on so you can track which ones you have your eye on. I have included the birth order and wts of all the puppies from today and yesterday as well as a brief description of their coloring. Hope you can read my chicken scratch 😆. I hope to get individual pictures of each puppy in the next few days.
Aggie and all her puppies made it through their first night very well. Everyone is eating well and staying warm which is so very important in these first days. I hope to replace collars today as they are all stained from all the birthing process. Aggie got a better bath this morning and is her perky self. She is very devoted to her puppies and often needs to be encouraged to go outside for a potty break as she never wants to leave them. She is so very gentle and so welcoming of us all for our snuggle times. Her tail is in constant motion showing her happiness through it all. I added a picture of our entire living room to give you an idea of how close she is to us...sorry for the messy room.
Aggie is freshened up and all the puppies have been weighed and color banded to keep track of growth over the next few days. This helps us to make sure they are all getting enough to eat. We are enjoying all the snuggles and are blown away by the colors.
All is well, we think we have the final count of 11...8 girls & 3 boys. Mama is resting for now. She will get a rinse off when she wakes up and fresh bedding. They are all so very cute ❤️
10 so far at 1:00 pm...8 girls & 2 boys. Everyone is doing very well!!
10:00 am update...7 so far. 2 boys 5 girls Aggie & all her puppies are doing very well. Although it is tough to tell when they are wet, most of them appear tri colored.
2 girls and 1 boy All are tri colored so far...our boys are so glad they got to see them before school and all have guesses on how many they will come home to.
Aggie is in labor and her first puppy is a beautiful girl🎉 Aggie woke me up at 2 and delivered her first at 6am so this will be a long process. Aggie is doing very well and her first puppy is already nursing. What a good Mama!!
Aggie is on the home stretch. Less then a week away from her due date and she is very full. She spend much of her day napping but still enjoys being as active as she can be. This week she has helped with a home project, enjoyed all the extra snuggles from her family, and loves time with our other dogs. This cooler weather is her absolute favorite and will be very helpful very soon when puppies come to keep Mama comfortable.
Aggie got her puppy hair cut. We clean up her belly and chest so puppies have an easier time finding their food🤣. She enjoyed every minute of it! She even got to watch the final game of the World Series with us. She is such an amazing girl who is the best Mama!
Sorry I have not posted an update recently, but we had some very sad news with our Stella and Ruby. They both either were misdiagnosed as having been pregnant on their ultrasounds or they lost their litters with no symptoms. We have been just devastated and had much work to do communicating with their families that were hoping for puppies. It has been a very tough time but thankfully everyone is doing very well and tests are all coming back showing them to be very healthy.
Aggie on the other hand has continued to grow as expected. I tried to capture her huge belly with side profiles but in person she is much larger then the pictures even can show. She is enjoying these cool days with her thick warm coat and is still doing her normal activity with lots of naps in there too. She loves coming inside and is getting used to her whelping area close to our wood stove. She enjoys belly rubs the most these days and as you can see her milk has already started to come in. Only a little over a week now 🎉
Aggies belly gets bigger every time we look at it. She is enjoying the coolness of the creek these days and loves the sunny fall days. She sleeps a lot as she is growing but is feeling good and always enjoys hikes in the woods. Her tail, as usual, never stops wagging to show her happiness with life.
Aggies belly is huge already making us wonder how many puppies she has in there as she still has 3 1/2 weeks to go. She is eating well and using more of her time to snuggle on her warm, cozy bed. She enjoys belly rubs the most these days which we all love to give as we try to feel her puppies.
Aggie just seems to get more beautiful with pregnancy. She loves the cooler weather and anything she can do that involves her family. Her belly is already showing the growth of her puppies and she is sleeping more these days. Aggies gentle soul and sweet nature is such a bonus to pass on in her puppies.
Aggie seems to get bigger but the second! Her ultrasound pictures where sent by the vet yesterday so I was so excited to share them. Aggie still enjoys our daily walkers in the woods and the cooler temps of fall. She is always beautiful, but in pregnancy she just glows ☺️. She is happiest these days on her back excepting a belly rub from anyone that will give her one!
Aggie had a successful ultrasound and the vet counted 10 puppies 🎉. Her check up went well and she is in great health. She is currently day 22 of pregnancy and loved all the attention she received today at the vet as well as going for a good car ride.
