Aggie & Oscars
Spring 2020 F1 Standard Bernedoodles
due May 24th but made their arrival bright and early May 27th.
All puppies are reserved
What beautiful, loving families each of our puppies have!! It was a full, fun day meeting everyone and seeing each puppy welcomed into their forever homes. We miss them all ❤️. We love all updates and plan to post them on Facebook at rubysgoldendoodles.
Another amazing family for one of our puppies! Gus went home today and is so very loved that we couldn’t be happier for him!
We are so very close to meeting all of you! Holly had her follow up X-ray and is all healed and back to normal. She did great with Weston on the ride in the van also. All puppies have mastered sit bit will need lots of consistent work to keep that skill as they grow. They come most times they are called and have good familiarity with their names. Rudy was the first to go home and he did have sadness his first night. We do expect that and with each night that will get better. His ride in the car went very well and we have loved all his updates. We will post sibling updates on our Facebook page at Rubysgoldendoodles so you can follow all their progress over the next months of transition. Puppies will get one final bath, nail trim, and ear cleaning prior to meeting you. Whole we are sad to see each puppy leave we couldn’t be happier for each family and puppy as we can see how truly loved they are. See you soon!
Our first goodbye.
Farewell Rudy!
We couldn’t be happier with the awesome family you are now with.
Farewell Rudy!
We couldn’t be happier with the awesome family you are now with.
In all the busynesss I forgot to introduce our last puppies name...purple girl is Ivy!!
Hard to believe puppies will not be with us next Monday. Some of our extended family said goodbye to the puppies over the weekend as that was their final time to see them. This is a sad time for our family but also a very happy time to see them going to wonderful homes. Luckily they become so much work at this point that our boys feel some relief in their going to their new homes ☺️ We feel very excited for each family as well as for each puppy. They truly desire one on one attention that they will receive in your homes at this point also helping to make this transition a happy one as we know how much they are already loved by you. Puppies have now completely weaned from Aggie and are eating 3 meals which is how they will transition to your homes. Puppies are doing well with sit and come but will need lots of repetition to continue those skills. We will do some more time on a leash and in a crate this week. Puppies will get one more bath, ear cleaning, and nails trimmed prior to meeting you. They will be dewormed one last time before pickup also. Holly will have her follow up X-ray Wednesday evening and we couldn’t be happier with how well she is doing. She moves and plays as if she never had an injury. If you have not taken advantage of the Baxter and Bella online program I still highly encourage you to take advantage of that for the best transition and ongoing training of your puppy. Remember to put RUBY in at check out to receiver 25% off. Looking forward to meeting you all very soon!
So many fun things happening this week! Puppies have had their first time on a leash and had fun getting to drag it behind themselves and chase after their siblings leash. More time has also been spent with our big dogs. We have had more visitors this week to continue to expose them to different people. We continue to have them sit when they greet us and are working on come with their name. Aggie is enjoying a bit more freedom by our creek as she ventures farther from them now. She is only nursing 2 short times daily and will co time to fully wean this week. Puppies continue to be exposed to new items with new sounds. All puppies are doing very well with us playing in their food while they eat and no signs of resource guarding have been noticed. They are all spending time in crates and almost all poop and Pe is done outside aside from nighttime, however; all those potties have been in the correct potty area.
Happy Monday! We have had a fun, full weekend hear. Puppies were dewormed again yesterday and had more opportunity to wade in shallow water. They are loving their tunnels and time with our adult dogs. They have mastered the doggie door and all poop has been outside as close to the fence as possible during the day and on the potty area at night. Most peeing is also done outside except when it has been so very hot, then we have had a couple smart puppies make the choice to go in a corner of their inside area to beat the heat. They all definitely love the A/C. In the last few days we have noticed puppies are entering the fear phase which is a sent ice time for a puppy. While we continue to expose them to new things we do it very carefully so it does not become a long term fear. This phase is different for each puppy and some will not begin for another week or so. This week we will continue have puppies spend time away a from siblings, spend time in a kennel for short increments, and work on resource guarding. We have our in their food while They eat to help them not to guard their food. We will continue to work on the market word “YES” and encourage sitting to greet us and coming when called. Everyone is doing very well and it is hard for us to believe we are less than 2 weeks away from take home ❤️
Puppies had a great check up yesterday as well as their first vaccines and microchip placement. All are healthy and doing as expected for their age. She was very pleased with how well Holly is doing and we set up her follow up X-ray for July 15. Remember to schedule your vet appointment for their boosters if you haven’t already. Also food orders should be placed this week at https://www.rubysgoldendoodles.com/dog-food-treats--pet-care-products.html. Puppies had another bath this week, nails trimmed, and ears cleaned with drops. We recommend buying ear cleaning drops to prevent ear infections and doodles are prone to them. We continue to do 1:1 time with puppies and are working on come and sit. They have successfully transitioned to hard kibble 3 times daily. They will be dewormed again this upcoming week. So many fun things going on! Wishing you all a blessed 4th.
Blue girl has her name and it’s Vesta
All puppies have now been chosen and planning for take home is in full swing. Holly is healing very well and starting to put more weight on her leg. She sure loves her supervised time with her siblings but is doing very well sleeping on her own with her snuggle puppy toy as you can see below. Puppies had their first introduction to water and a bath this weekend. We use the natural and safe products of Life’s Abundace. They smell amazing and work very well. We encourage you to all also buy the ear cleaning drops to use weekly and after your puppy has time in the water to prevent ear infections as doodle are prone to them without the proper cleaning. They all smelled so good and their coats are so fluffy. They enjoyed the water especially with the hot weather we have been having. We have also don’t more work with their startle response and new toys. They were introduced to another play tunnel and they are all showing great interest it walking through it. This helps with introducing them to small spaces. Puppies have learned how to use the doggie door and are choosing to do all pooping outside during the day while it is open and on their potty area at night. Most peeing is also done outside and on ore area at night also 🤗. This week we will start working on come and “YES” MARKER. You can learn more about this with the Baxter and Bella training program. We reward when each puppy comes with a very enthusiastic “YES” and a treat to reinforce the behavior. We also do this when they sit as we want that to be the way they greet us to come and sit not jump. These are skills we strongly encourage each family to continue when your puppy comes home and to continue the groundwork we start. So many fun new things for the week ahead!
Lime green and blue girl both have their forever homes and we are so excited for their families. Lime is Baxter and blue girl is still being worked on.
Blue girl name TBD
Lime boy is now Baxter
Sweet Holly sadly had an accident and has a broken leg. We woke up to her not bearing weight on it and brought her the the vet for an X-ray to confirm her diagnosis. With Aggies size it could be she got stepped on but we are unsure what it may have been. Luckily she is expected to make a full recovery as puppies grow and heal so quickly and her other bone is supporting the fractured one. She is just the best little patient who is getting even more love and attention. She does need to be away from her siblings when she is not supervised to protect her leg but she sure enjoys the time she gets to be with her brothers and sisters.
We have done some more work with loud noises using a plastic tarp and letting puppies step on it first then shaking it to make a louder noise. Puppies are doing very well chosen to potty outside as much as they are able. Transition to 3 meals is going very well. Aggie is now nursing only 3-4 times daily and is starting the weaning process that will take 2 weeks. The 2 puppies left to be chosen are lime and blue girl. Have a great weekend!

Puppies have started to have more regular time outside and it is so neat to see them go potty almost immediately when we take them out. We continue to snuggle and do daily ENS time but now in a separate area to give them time away from siblings for several minutes at a time. We have done work on their startle response by introducing new noises daily. Again, with kiddos this often happens without effort 😉. Puppies will be dewormed tomorrow for the second time. They are starting to sniff our other adult girls and enjoying that so far. They are eating 2 times daily now and by Thursday we will be up to 3 feeding as daily. Picking is almost half complete and hopefully will be finished in the next few days. Puppies have also started to sleep in open kennels by choice which is a great start in introduction to the kennel. We have several visits planned this week from close friends to handle puppies and expose them to new people.
Orange boy is 3rd to be chosen. We will update when he has been named.
Purple girl is the second chosen. No name yet as her family wants just the right name for her.
So many new adventures in the past days. Puppies have been outside for several short outings and have enjoyed their time exploring. Toys have been introduced as well as the potty area and water dish. Today will be the puppies first meal. We start them very slowly and increase to 4 feeding daily over the next week and a half. Aggie will be able to now start the weaning process. She will continue to nurse her puppies but by 6 or 7 weeks she will be done completely. The puppies have already started to climb over the opening so to give Aggie the ability to have space the opening has already been raised. Lots of time is still spent doing ENS; however, we now take each puppy out individually to perform so they start to learn that separation from their sibling and mom is acceptable. Having children around after times working on the puppies startle response happens naturally, but we try to in small doses drop a toy, rattle keys, start a vacuum, slam a door to allow them time to startle and recovery positively. We also introducing them to the world around them as well as new smells. This week they will be introduced to their food, clementines, and fresh spices from our herb pot daily. We will also be allowing short visits from family and friends on a regular basis. Hands are washed and shoes removed for safety if the puppies and the visit is short in duration. So many fun things happening and often the bulk of our day. We will do our very best to continue to respond quickly to your questions and send updates but do know if we are slow or miss a question we apologize that we often do not have enough hours in the day to do all that we set out to do😉
What a fun weekend was had by all! Puppies have continued the transition process to their new, larger space. They have been introduced to the potty area which will help them learning to keep their area clean. Lots of extra snuggles were given by cousins, friends, and our puppy sitter who helps us when we need to be gone for more than a few hours at a time. Aggie is enjoying having more room and we love that with the help of cameras we can see them on a screen from our home at all times. No new puppies have been chosen but we plan to continue the picking toward the end of the week and will update here as soon as that happens. Lots of leaning and fun ahead this week.
Happy Friday!! Puppies are growing and changing in front of our eyes. They all had their nails trimmed and new collars have already needed to be adjusted to accommodate their growth. Just as an update, no puppies have been chosen since Gus and will not be until late next week to give more time for development before choosing. Over the weekend we will be giving puppies time out in our outside space to get them acclimated and potentially make the full transition next week as they seem comfortable. Aggie loves this time as she will have more space while still being very attentive to her puppies. It is very important as puppies get teeth for her to have space to retreat and take longer breaks. Several puppies have teeth popping through already. We continue to perform ENS with each puppy and are finding it so fun to see them become more response to our voices and presence now that they can see and are starting to hear us more clearly.
Blue boy has been chosen and is now “Gus”
So many fun things to report for the weekend! We enjoyed movie night with the puppies. There is nothing better than snuggling puppies while enjoying a good movie. Each puppy got a new collar as they grew out of the last ones. They are taking very wobbly steps now and eyes have started the process of opening. Puppies will start to hear sounds around week 3 as their ears are closed until then. We continue to do ENS daily several times with each puppy and they all have started to just melt into our hands while we do this. Aggie continues to do very well and we could ask for a better mama!
Puppies are growing at rapid speed! They have all needed their collars to be loosened and will have a new one in the next few days as they are growing right out of this size. They are starting to sit up and very soon the corners of their eyes will start to open. This is a slow process so even when they have opened they look blueish in color for the next week of life. With all the growth nails also have been growing. All the puppies had their first nail trim and did very well. This will be done every couple of days while they are nursing to keep Aggie from getting scratched and decreasing her risk for mastitis. Puppies are now getting one on one time outside of the puppy area and have had a visit from some friends to help in introducing them to new smells and more snuggles/handling from new people. Aggie is a dedicated mother who rarely wants to leave her babies for more then a potty break, but I did talk her into a short hike last night which she enjoyed. She also enjoys all the extra attention she is getting while being the center of our home during this period.

Everyone is doing so well and have all been responding well to ENS time! They are growing so quickly and starting to fill more of the tub. Aggie enjoys taking longer breaks from the puppies now to relax in the sun or go for a walk outside. She is such a great mother and does so very well with her puppies. She is so relaxed when we are in with the puppies or with having visits from our family this weekend.
Puppies all did very well with their rear dew claw removal and vet check today. While the process of removal is hard the rear dew claws can cause problems down the road so it is best to remove it while they are so little. We do not remove front dew claws as they serve a purpose so we see no need in removing them.
The vet also commented on how good Aggie looks and I must agree. She has enjoyed some time outside and a visit from our family who came up to visit their cabin from the cities to escape all that is going on in that area. We hope everyone is safe and doing well!

Good morning! Just a quick update on the picking process. Eyes open around week 2 so it is likely no puppies will be picked until after that point. I will post as soon as any puppy is picked to keep you updated. The vet does visit today late afternoon so I will have an update on how that goes later today.
The vet was running behind today so will visit tomorrow for the check up and dew claw removal. Everyone is doing well and enjoying movie night 😉
So happy tor report everyone is doing very well and have made it through the critical first 48 hours! Aggie is doing so well and is such a good mama. She is enjoying getting outside for little bits of time and as always eats up all the extra attention and belly rubs she can get in.
Today marks a very important part of their time with us where we start early neurological stimulation (ENS). This is a process we start doing daily that introduces mild stresses in a controlled way. These stresses help stimulate the neurological system which improves the growth and development of the puppies immune system, cardiovascular system, and stress tolerance. This process is part of the Puppy Culture Method and goes hand in hand with all that our online training partner Baxter & Bella recommends. We love this time with each puppy and start to really bond with each one and are lucky to have all the extra hands to help with everyone being home. The 5 steps are:
Hold the puppy's head up.
Hold the puppy's head down, gently, no swinging.
Hold the puppy on his back.
Put the puppy's belly down on a cool towel.
Stimulate the bottom of the foot with a cotton swab

So very thankful after the busyness of the night to have had a restful day. All puppies are eating and growing well. We decided to move the vet visit to tomorrow in order to give everybody one more day before removing the dewclaws. Aggie has her energy back and is perky and doing very well. Well she doesn’t love her baths she did seem to feel much better after getting one. Little yellow girl is doing amazing and is often the first puppy to reach Aggie to eat. Each puppy is growing exactly as they should be.

We have great news to report about yellow girl and terribly heartbreaking news for one of our males. I will start with the good news first. Yellow girl turned the corner last night and started nursing on her own. She decided she didn’t want to stay in her separate warmer area and she let mom know by lots of little noises so Aggie helped her out and she crawled right over to start to nurse. She is growing and doing very well!!
Now for the sad news, brown boy was found middle of the night not breathing. We are not sure if in all the excitement to keep yellow girl eating we missed signs on him of failure to thrive or if Aggie in exhaustion sat on him. We are heartbroken and can hardly find words to say how terrible this is. He was big and beautiful and we are so sad for the family who will not get to enjoy his life.

Final count is 9 (4 girls and 5 boys). Sweet little yellow lady is doing well. She has gained .2 oz and is able to keep warm now by the others. She is still not latching on strong so we will continue to feed her Aggies milk every 1 1/2 hours as there are so many immunities for her in it. We are hopeful that she will make it as she is very strong. The vet will visit tomorrow to check on everyone and remove rear dew claws. Aggie is doing very well and luckily has a huge milk supply making it easy to get extra for yellow girl. We are lucky to have everyone home to help feed and snuggle puppies.
Aggie has had 9 so far...(5 boys and 4 girls). All are nursing and doing very well with the exception of yellow. She is smaller than her sibling and not nursing on her own yet. She is very strong though and able to drink Aggies milk that we express and give to her in a syringe. We have lots of hands to help feed and snuggle her so we are very hopeful she will be able to nurse independently in the next few days. For now we keep her very warm and feed her hourly.
Puppies have started to make their arrivals starting at 1:00 am 💕.
Aggie is still hanging in there. Lots of walks and snuggles today but no puppies yet. Hope you are all hanging in there with this long wait!! Hopefully we will have good news to report in the morning.
Aggie was restless all night but no puppies yet. We are very close!
Aggie is resting very calmly so again no fun update. All is well and it shouldn’t be too much longer. Hopefully I will have good news to report soon.
Wish I had a more fun update; however, Aggie is still doing very well and still no puppies. Hoping for a better update soon 😊
Hoping a walk will help get things going. Aggie is most comfortable on her back right now as her belly is so full. She slept all night in the pool and has lots of snugglers in there to keep her company.
Aggie made it through the night and slept very well! She is showing strong signs of labor so now we wait...as if we haven’t done that already, right? I think she is dragging this all out to get the most attention possible 😂.
Aggie is enjoying movie night inside with us and getting all settled into her puppy area. We are watching her very closely. We are all enjoying feeling all the puppy movement in her belly.
The due date is here and the waiting begins. She is so very close but is very restful at the moment so no immediate signs as of yet. I will be sure to post ASAP as puppies begin to arrive. We are so very close now!!
Just this morning, Aggie started showing signs of labor. Her temperature has started to drop which usually predicts delivery in a few days. She has been doing some nesting which involves digging as she prepares for puppies to come. Her spot is all set up in our home as well as in the puppy area so we have 2 options for puppies to be born dependent on where she seems the most comfortable. She is still active and loves our morning hikes; however, they at at a slower pace. Aggies belly is very tight and puppy movements are so fun to feel as well as see! I still think we have a few days but we are definitely close🥳
While we don’t always get puppies on their due date, we have one week to go! Aggie is growing and doing very well. She has a good appetite and is enjoying all the extra doses of attention she is getting with pregnancy. Puppy movement can be felt and belly rubs remain her favorite part of the day. Aggie is loving the “shelter in place” order as she always has time with her litter family now that they are doing school from home. This past week Aggie has enjoyed being with us to put the garden in, plant flowers, bike on the new trails our boys are making, keep all squirrels on their toes, taking lots of naps and soaking in as many belly rubs as is possible from anyone and everyone. We couldn’t be more excited for puppies to come.
Happy Mother’s Day!
We have only 2 weeks left until Aggies due date. In preparation she got her tummy hair cut so puppies can find nutrition easier. She is doing very well and soaking in as many belly rubs as she can. Her favorite area has been our creek lately. She is still enjoying our hikes on our trails as well as play time with the other girls. She does take extra naps and is showing more signs that puppies are on their way. The next 2 weeks will be huge growth for her and more time of relaxing.

We have just a little under 3 weeks to go! Aggie is doing very well and growing daily. She takes lots of naps and is extra hungry which is totally what we expect at this stage. Here are some fun pictures of all Aggie has been up to. As you can see below, Aggie LOVES her belly rubs from anyone who will give them. Cool thing about that during this time is it is a great therapy to her as well as the puppies so we do this often. Aggie's coat could not look better and this is completely attributed to the good nutrition she is getting which is so vital to all her puppies rapid growth and development. She does still enjoy going far out into our field to run and explore in between naps of course. She enjoys time with our other Mamas as well as our daily hikes through the woods. Lastly, Aggie and her sisters have taken on the goal of getting rid of all the squirrels we love to feed. Toward the bottom you will see a poor squirrel trapped in the tree and her and Penny staying watch.
We hope you are all staying safe!
We hope you are all staying safe!
We are so excited to say Aggies ultrasound was positive 4/29/20. Puppies are expected May 24th to go home July 18th. Here is a look at all Aggie has been up to in the last few days. She enjoyed daily hikes on our property, lots of belly rubs, boys out in the yard to snuggle, as well as her time with our other dogs. As a fun recap, I also included her & Oscars grown puppies who just turned a year. This will give you idea of what your puppies future look will resemble. I plan to update you all weekly and several times per week when puppies arrive.
Let the fun begin!
